Extradited from Spain, the super-fledgling Gioacchino Gammino, mafia boss of the "Stidda", arrested last December 17 in Galapagar, a small town on the outskirts of Madrid, by the investigators of the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate in collaboration with the Udico of the Spanish National Police, is in Italy.
Accompanied by the SCIP, Gammino, who had just landed, was taken over by the officials of the Anti-Mafia Investigation Department, which coordinated the entire operation, with the police escort.
Then he was taken to the offices of the border police for the notification of the documents.
Later he will be translated into a maximum security prison.
On June 26, 2002, Gammino became the protagonist of a daring escape made by Rebibbia during the shooting of some scenes of a film that were being shot inside the Roman prison.
In the film, an inmate had to climb a wall screaming, fidgeting and refusing to get off.
Gammino, taking advantage of the diversionary action due to the confusion that had arisen with the arrival of the crew, managed to escape by mingling with the flow of visitors who were visiting the detained relatives.
