(ANSA) - ROME, 11 FEB - For the new film, Il Soldell'Avvenire, Nanni Moretti returns to film in Cinecittà where more than 40 years ago he shot Sweet dreams and more recently Habemus Papam, as he himself tells in an interview with 'Italian Cinema' re-launched by Cinecittà News.
The protagonist of Moretti's new film is the French actor and director Mathieu Amalric, cherished alongside a cast led by Margherita Buy and Silvio Orlando, with Barbora Bobulova, Nanni himself, Elena Lietti, Jerzy Stuhr, Laura Nardi, Beniamino Marcone, Rosario Lisma, Flavio Furno, Francesco Brandi.
The screenplay sees Nanni flanked by long-time collaborators Valia Santella, Federica Pontremoli and Francesca Marciano.
The film is set in Rome in the 1950s and up to the 1970s in the circus environment and also talks about cinema.
Produced by Sacher Film and Fandango, with Rai Cinema it will be distributed by 01.
"The sun of the future - explains the producer Fandango Domenico Procacci - is the fourth film by Nanni Moretti that Fandango produces, together with Sacher Film".
In the interview cited, Moretti also intervenes on the theme of platforms: "When I read that Scorsese was shooting a film for Netflix I was very amazed. Seeing a film at the cinema already knowing that after twenty days it will be distributed on the platforms makes me a great impression. For me the hall is irreplaceable, and I speak not only as a director and producer but also as a spectator. If I make a film, I do it for cinemas.
As for the series, I do not rule it out in principle, the important thing is that I do not bother at any stage of the production: script, shooting, editing.
But judging by the complaining stories that make me friends with directors, screenwriters and producers, it seems that these platforms are very invasive and overbearing, with even ridiculous rules ". (ANSA).
