ROME - Letting great art, in its shapes and colors, tell the story of love, from the most passionate to the idealized, from the fairy tale to the tormented one, is a nice way to spend Valentine's Day, celebrating the feeling more and more celebrated with eyes immersed in beauty.

And of the fact that art and love are a perfect combination, many Italian museum institutions are convinced that for this festival they have many special initiatives in store, with free admissions, discounts and extraordinary openings, for all visitors, in love or not.

At the Borghese Gallery in Rome it will be a week entirely in romantic style from 12 to 18 February: every day at 17.00 and 17.45 the museum will offer a guided tour to discover the love stories contained in the masterpieces of the art gallery, located on the first floor.

For visitors, who at the exit will be able to cross the walk of lovers (a gallery of flowers to walk through for a romantic goodbye), there is also the #borourginlove initiative, the social contest to tell their experience in one click.

Also in the capital, from 13 to 15 February the Civic Museums organize "RomAmor", a program of "visits-stories", to discover famous loves and curiosities with a romantic theme: among the passions not to be missed, the one between Anita and Giuseppe Garibaldi at Museum of the Roman Republic and that of Paolo and Francesca at the Canonica Museum or the legendary feeling between Cupid and Psyche at the Capitoline Museums and the Museum of Rome.

In Rome there will also be "MeruLove" at Palazzo Merulana, to celebrate love in all its forms until February 26: many events, appointments and surprises (in addition to the discounted admission 2ž1 for the entire weekend of 12 and 13 February and every Saturday of the month) dedicated to feelings and relationships and the possibility of posting declarations of love with an artistic theme on the museum's social networks.

In Treviso, the Bailo Museum invites lovers to experience Valentine's Day with an ad hoc program: on February 13 and 14 it will be possible to exchange a kiss and take a selfie in front of the exceptionally exposed original plaster of "Cupid and Psyche" by Antonio Canova (work that in May will be among the masterpieces of the great exhibition "Canova Gloria Trevigiana. From classical beauty to the romantic announcement").

Moreover, thanks to the project "Un amore da poema ..." it will be possible to take part in the guided tour of the "Treviso Journey Dantesco" exhibition, in an exclusive itinerary inside the museum, designed especially for couples.

A Valentine's Day with extraordinary openings and special itineraries will also be the one proposed to the public by the Gallerie d'Italia of Intesa San Paolo: in Milan with "Gallerie mon amour" you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the Grand Tour, in Naples the "Folle amore" itinerary "will offer a special study on the two great loves of Vincenzo Gemito, Matilde Duffaud and Anna Cutolo, and in Vicenza the multisensory itinerary" At the Galleries in the moonlight. Encounters of art and love "will reveal the bonds of love and passion among the masterpieces housed in Palazzo Leoni Montanari.

A ticket for two on Valentine's Day weekend for those who come as a couple and a themed schedule is the program of Fondazione Torino Musei: at Gam there will be "Love is Love" to tell about love in a journey between painting, sculpture and materials from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day;

at the Mao the tour will lead the participants to discover the museum's works of art united by the amorous and sexual theme in the Buddhist and Hindu fields;

finally, "Amori da Mito" at Palazzo Madama, a guided tour inspired by the famous loves that can be traced among paintings, decorations, lambriggi, ceramics and luxury objects kept in the rooms of the Museum.
