Hamm – Many employees can be happy: there is a corona bonus.

And that's something to be proud of.

But not all employees receive the bonus.

Only certain professional groups are affected.

Corona bonus: Which employees receive the special payment?

Employees in the public sector in the federal states receive a tax and duty-free Corona bonus of 1,300 euros (except for Hesse).

Trainees and students receive 650 euros.

Unions and employers agreed on this in November 2021.

The special payment is to be paid out by March 2022.

This affects, for example, employees in state authorities, university clinics, schools, daycare centers, the police and fire brigade as well as road maintenance and waste disposal companies.

Corona bonus in public service: no special payment for federal civil servants

The transfer of the bonus payment to civil servants is a matter for the federal states.

Bavaria, for example, has decided to pay its civil servants a corona bonus of 1,300 euros.

North Rhine-Westphalia has also announced that the wage agreement will be transferred one-to-one to civil servants and judges in the state.

There should be no special payment for federal officials, the Federal Ministry of the Interior said at the request of wa.de *

No such plans would currently exist.

Hesse is going its own way: The federal state has negotiated separately with the unions about a collective agreement in the public sector, reports 

Here, too, an agreement was reached on a corona bonus.

Employees are to receive a tax-free bonus totaling EUR 1,000 (trainees EUR 500).

In some professions, employees can look forward to a corona bonus.

Corona bonus 2022: Nursing staff should also receive additional special payments

The nursing staff should also receive a corona bonus again in 2022.

The traffic light parties have agreed in their coalition agreement.

One billion euros is to be made available.

The SPD, Greens and FDP want to give them a tax-free Corona bonus of up to 3,000 euros.

But there are still discussions about the special payment in care.

Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) suggested that the corona bonus should only be paid to nurses who were under particular stress during the pandemic.

Not everyone thinks that's a good idea.

The German Foundation for Patient Protection fears further frustration among nursing staff.
