"The reform of the CSM marks a break with respect to the past, but it is the task of the judicial associations and of each magistrate to recover the rigor that requires awareness of their role and to preserve the autonomous governing body from the logic of belonging and undue pressure".

This was stated by the vice president of the CSM David Ermini connected by videoconference on the final day of the inauguration of the judicial year of the Union of Italian criminal chambers underway in Catanzaro.

"The reform of the CSM and the judiciary - said Ermini - is an unavoidable and urgent step (as I have been repeating for over two years) to restore credibility and trust in the justice system and in the judiciary, and therefore cannot absolve the judiciary from the need for serious reflection and a profound cultural and moral renewal ".

"There will be a way in the coming days - added the vice president of the CSM - to evaluate more carefully the innovations introduced by the government amendments. I remain of the idea that an overall reorganization should include the establishment of a High Court to entrust the disciplinary proceedings of all the judiciary and appeal against board resolutions.

Forza Italia maintains some doubts on some points.

"The electoral system of the toga of the CSM indicated in the reform approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers" is not good ", the vice president of Fi, Antonio Tajani, told Rainews 24, who added:

" we will correct it in Parliament "

, urging us to aim to a temperate draw.
