Tonight (Sunday) the 56th Super Bowl, the final of the American Football League, which is the most watched television broadcast in the United States, will be held in Los Angeles.
This time the local team, the Los Angeles Rams, will host the finals, which will host the Cincinnati Bengals, but no less focus is on the prestigious mid-level show, which annually hosts the most prominent artists in American music.
This year the show is a tribute to hip hop, and will feature veteran and groundbreaking rappers, led by Dr. Dre. His headphone brand, Beats, will be joined by his protégés, Eminem and Snoop Dogg.
Also taking part in the mid-show: Mary J. Blige and the rising rapper of the last decade Kendrick Lamar.
The show is being organized by Joc-owned production company Roc Nation, and he stated that "this is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime show, and this is a history in the making."
JZ himself is not supposed to take part in the show, although there are rumors that he will surprise and take the stage.
The show will also likely feature a tribute to the late rapper Tupac, who was the most prominent name in the hip hop scene in the early '90s.
For the past two decades, the most talked about mid-range shows have been those of the band U2, which made a tribute to the victims of the twin disasters;
Of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, with the scandal created after Timberlake stripped Jackson;
And of the diva duo Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, whose show video is the most viewed on YouTube (with more than 220 million views).
Other stars who have stolen the show on the show over the years are Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Katie Perry.
Perry's show from 2015 holds the record for ratings, with 118.5 million viewers live.
