(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 12 - The Neapolitan Coffee Academy dedicated to the enhancement and promotion of the Neapolitan coffee tradition is born.
The project is by Medeaterranea, an association specialized in scientific dissemination, research, training and enhancement of the food and wine sector.
The academy, created in collaboration with the Neapolitan company CaffèBorbone, is set up in the spaces of the Mostra d'Oltremare di Fuorigrotta-Naples (Pool Pavilion).
The first lessons from February.
The program includes a limited number of lanes, to which 20 participants will have access at a time.
Three levels are open to anyone wishing to specialize or enter the world of work, but also to simple enthusiasts: the first two include basic theoretical-practical lessons, the third more specific and advanced and aimed at becoming true Neapolitan coffee growers.
The lessons are related to the origin, history and provenance of coffee and concern the difference between "arabica" and "robusta", how to best serve coffee in various contexts and a focus on the social value that unfolds around the "coffee ritual" .
Modules such as the one dedicated to coffee semiotics are planned.
The third level includes notions related to marketing, sensorial techniques, the analysis of consumption related to coffee and other insights.
There will be visits to the Caffè Borbone plant.
