Is your pet allowed to sleep in the bed?
Researchers have determined how this affects sleep quality.
The results speak primarily for a cuddle partner.
Dirty paws and bad breath do not deter some dog or cat owners: their darling can go to bed with them.
According to a TNS Infratest survey,
every third German dog owner is allowed to sleep with their four-legged friend.
Cats are allowed to do this even more often: according to the survey, almost two-thirds of velvet paw owners let their cat sleep in their bed.
A US research team has found out how the four-legged overnight guests affect the quality of sleep.
For the study, the team led by Christy L. Hoffman, Professor of Animal Behavior, Ecology and Conservation at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, interviewed 962 American women.
According to Zeit.de
, 55 percent of the participants said they shared their bed with at least one dog, 31 percent with at least one cat and 57 percent with a human partner
.
The result was clear:
women see dogs as ideal sleeping companions.

Human bed partners are “perceived as annoying”
"Compared to human bed partners, dogs that slept in the owner's bed were perceived as less disruptive to sleep and
were associated with a greater sense of comfort and security,
" the researchers led by Christy Hoffman inform in their survey: "Conversely, cats that sleeping in their owner's bed were found to be just as disruptive as human bed partners, and were associated with a lower sense of comfort and security than human and canine bed partners.
As the researchers continue to write, only the subjective feelings of the study participants were recorded as part of the survey.
Therefore, according to the scientists, further research is required to determine whether objective measurements show the same effects.
And suddenly the ceiling is gone!
Anyone who shares their blanket with a partner knows the problem all too well: at night you wake up shivering because your bed companion has pulled the blanket off you again.
As a rule, one does not want to assume malicious intent, but one thing is certain: the nocturnal scramble for the shared blanket robs valuable nerves and valuable sleep.
With the 220 x 240 cm AERO ActiveClima duvet from Third of Life, this problem is now a thing of the past (promotional link)!
