Vaccination pass: everything that changes this Tuesday on its validity period

2022-02-14T16:31:05.204Z

Without a booster dose or recent contamination, the vaccination pass will now only be valid for four months instead of seven. About 4 mil

Watch out, new rules!

From this Tuesday, February 15, the vaccine pass will only be valid for four months if the person has not received a booster dose and has not tested positive in the last three months.

Until then, the period of validity was seven months.

A major change, which went a little unnoticed in an interview with Olivier Véran at the JDD on January 2.

Here is all you need to know.

How many people are at risk of losing their vaccination pass?

37.5 million people received a booster dose.

And as of February 15, 46 million French men and women had been vaccinated more than four months ago.

There are therefore nearly 9 million left that are, in theory, not in the nails.

Except that some of them were contaminated less than three months ago, and therefore do not have to receive a reminder.

Their vaccination pass will now be valid without an expiry date.

How many people are in this situation?

Impossible to know precisely, since we do not have the vaccination status of people who test positive in real time.

But, according to the Ministry of Health, around half of the 9 million French people without a recall have had Covid recently.

Thus, “there will remain around 4 million people who will not have been infected and will not have had their booster shot” on February 15, and are therefore “likely to lose their vaccination pass”, details the Directorate General of Health ( DGS).

Are teenagers affected?

No.

Young people aged 12 to 17 can receive a booster dose from Monday, January 24, but it is not mandatory to keep their health pass (for those aged 12 to 15) or their vaccination pass (for those aged 16 or 17).

The passage, from seven to four months, of the deadline for receiving his reminder therefore has no impact on them.

To date, 11% of adolescents have received an additional dose.

Children aged 5 to 11 are not eligible for the booster, since they can only be vaccinated since mid-December.

Only 5% of them have received a first dose to date.

But they are not, in any case, subject to the health or vaccination pass.

Can I reactivate my pass if it is no longer valid?

Yes... but not immediately.

“The vaccination pass can be reactivated once the person has done their vaccination booster” and it “will become valid seven days after the injection of the booster dose”, indicates the DGS.

Clearly, if your vaccination pass has been deactivated in the meantime, you will have to wait a week to get a new one.

Once this period has passed, it will remain valid indefinitely (unless it is later conditioned to a new dose).

If I had the Covid, how can I make my pass valid without limit?

As mentioned above, people who test positive after receiving their full vaccination schedule can now benefit from a vaccination pass with no expiry date.

Until this announcement, made by Olivier Véran on Wednesday February 2, a reminder was mandatory for them at least three months after the positive test.

How should they go about it?

Once the TousAntiCovid application has been updated, it becomes possible to generate a new recovery certificate without an end date, from the documents already available (the vaccination certificate and the proof of positive test).

The Directorate General of Health has not been able to confirm to us whether the device was operational as of now.

If ever the person is tested positive in the pharmacy from this Tuesday, “the health professional in charge of screening will generate the certificate of recovery for an unlimited period, on presentation of the vaccination certificate”, indicates the DGS.
