The number of cases continues to decline in France. All the indicators are green, in particular daily hospitalizations, down

Nightclubs are reopening this Wednesday, a symbolic measure to ease restrictions illustrating a marked improvement in the health situation.

Because even if it is largely dominant, the Omicron variant causes less serious forms of the disease, which translates into shorter stays in hospital and a lower risk of going to intensive care.

This Tuesday, French hospitals are welcoming 31,091 positive coronavirus patients, slightly less than Monday (31,532).

Seven days ago, Public Health France counted 33,352. In the past 24 hours alone, there have been 2,454 new hospital admissions of people diagnosed with Covid-19, compared to 3,060 a week ago.

The most serious cases, treated in critical care services, are decreasing with 3,235 patients this Tuesday evening.

They were 3,296 the day before and 3,555 last Tuesday.

In the past 24 hours, these units reserved for severe forms have recorded 291 new entries, against 320 seven days earlier.

Daily deaths have fallen by 10% in one week.

Public Health France has recorded 304 deaths linked to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

Since the start of the pandemic, 135,493 coronavirus-positive people have died.

A low rate of vaccination

Finally, 142,253 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in 24 hours.

Yesterday, for the first time since December, the incidence rate fell below the threshold of 1,500 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

Such a sharp drop in percentage had almost never occurred in the past.

The positivity rate has also been in sharp decline, for 13 days.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 54,162,931 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 80.3% of the total population) and 53,080,193 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 78.7% of the total population).

In addition, more than 38 million people (38,030,126 precisely) received a booster dose.

In the past 24 hours, 188,993 doses have been administered.
