(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 15 - Twitter users can also vote for their favorite film of 2021, the film that will receive the most acclaim will be awarded during the ceremony on March 27.
The initiative - which the Hollywood Reporter website talks about - is the result of a collaboration between the social network and the Academy.
“We are thrilled to partner with Twitter to help build an engaged and enthusiastic digital audience at this year's ceremony,” explains Meryl Johnson, Vpdigital Marketing at the Academy.
"Twitter is the place to be at big events and the Oscars are one of the biggest conversation engines every year," adds Sarah Rosen, director of partnership shows at the microblog.
The most voted film by Twitter users will not have a formal Oscar category - explains The Hollywood Reporter - but will open the way to films snubbed by the Academy such as Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Users of the platform can vote until March 3 using the hashtag #OscarsFanFavorite.
You can also vote for your favorite 2021 scene using the hashtag # OscarsCheerMoment, it will be shown during the ceremony.
You can express your preference up to 20 times a day.
And the partnership does not end there: three Twitter users who cast their votes will be selected to make a paid trip to Los Angeles and present an Oscar at the next ceremony in 2023. (ANSA).
