WE WERE THERE – For five years, the institution has opened its doors to lovers for a special evening on February 14. Around the famous Sculptor's Kiss, champagne and music made hearts beat.

Lips that seek each other, an instant engraved in immaculate marble and suspended for eternity.

Le Baiser

, Auguste Rodin's masterpiece, is attracting all eyes this Monday evening.

For the occasion, its base is covered with rose petals.

The Rodin Museum presents its "Love" evening, where Valentine's Day and culture come together to form one.

Couples, a hundred, without their children, walk through the exhibition from 6 p.m., taking advantage of reserved slots to admire the works in complete privacy.

The program ?

“Concerts in several rooms of the museum, a reading of the love correspondence between Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin or even a champagne bar.

Whether the public is looking for culture or love, I hope they will find it”

, lists the communication manager of the Rodin museum, in charge of the event, orange hat and fuchsia scarf around her neck.

Animations designed to attract the general public.

In the aisles, suits and pumps meet sneakers jeans.

Round musical notes like the voluptuous sculptures of Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin mingle with accents of all nationalities.

On the main staircase, two actors face each other, Romeo and Juliet style: they declaim the letters that the two artists, known for the intensity of their artistic and loving lives, sent to each other.

A staging that enchants Olivia, originally from England.

“I don't understand everything that is said, but there is so much adoration in their voices, it's magnificent

,” she breathes.

Not far from there, a small crowd forms.

Among the couples present, Julie and Antoine, in their twenties.

They declare their love on a small piece of paper before hanging it on the wishing tree, one of the star events of the evening.

“I have to admit that's what intrigued me about the program.

I am a romantic”

, smiles Julie, wrapped in a large red coat and sequined tights.

For the couple, coming to the museum was above

all “an opportunity to do something different for Valentine's Day.

It's a change from the restaurant, it's much more original, ”

says Antoine.

Another charming asset of this evening for young people: the price.

"When I saw that it was 12 euros for those under 26 instead of 27, I didn't

, explains Elias, whose spider web tattoo adorns his neck.

“The four sessions that we have scheduled are complete,”

we welcome at the museum.

A success similar to previous years since with this evening, the establishment

“has been playing sold out for five years”

.

A sensory and musical journey

In room 15, on the first floor, applause rings out.

The concert, given by Juliette Renard on flute and Antoine Fougeray on guitar, has just ended.

Véronique, a small backpack decorated with a childish fawn is conquered.

“There is not this strict atmosphere that one sometimes finds in certain cultural places.

People hang out, talk… And the music almost makes you want to dance with your partner

,” she says happily.

An atmosphere greeted by a captivated Parisian couple

La Valse

by Camille Claudel, two bronze bodies that intertwine, between desire and passion, on a bed of purple petals arranged there again for the occasion.

“Look at the characters, they look so alive!”

, raves Henri, 75, whose hazel eyes betray the mischievous smile under his mask.

Leaning on his wooden cane, he is accompanied by

"his beauty"

, Louise, his wife for 50 years.

For these two admirers of Rodin, the evening is above all an opportunity to discover part of his work in another atmosphere.

“There is a festive, sensory side.

It does honor to his work

, ”they comment.

"

And above all, it takes us back to when we were young

, ”adds Louise, pointing to the sculpture with a nod, before looking at her husband tenderly.
