Actress Tali Oren launches a comedy show, which will open the humor and comedy festival in Rishon Lezion on March 15. • She owes her thanks to Corona and her husband, Oren Yaakobi, who wrote the show

The Corona virus, which closed the cultural world, has also made the life of actress Tali Oren, who was busy in the theater, particularly quiet.

Whoever took the stage every evening, found herself sitting at home.

There a new initiative emerged: to dare and take the stage for the first time in a single show.

The show "Not Getting Married" (produced by the National Theater and the Kiryat Motzkin Theater Hall) will premiere on March 15, as part of the Sefi Rivlin Comedy and Humor Festival in Rishon LeZion.

The festival will take place on Purim, March 15-19, at the Rishon LeZion Hall of Culture.

In her only show, Oren plays a bride who locks herself in her "groom-bride" room on her wedding day, and tries to convince the members of the wedding band - which she took hostage - to help her escape her wedding.

The comedy-musical show was written by her husband Oren Yaakobi, the musical director is Amir Lekner and the director is Yotam Kushnir.

"For years I have been dreaming of a show of my own, as someone who grew up on Bett Midler and Carol Burnett," says Oren (44).

"I said it would happen one day, but I was busy with a lot of productions at the same time, and I probably didn't have the courage to go for it either. But then came the corona, and with it the crazy silence - and everything stopped in a boom. At first it was wonderful, family time, I started scratching and realized I needed to take advantage of the situation. I got a call from Sami Levy's National Theater, and he asked me what I wanted to do. 'Let me make your dream come true,' he said. I decided to go for it. Oren, my husband, took my secret dreams. And wrote a show. "

Oren Yaakobi, Tali's husband, is also the creator of the musicals "Zero in Human Relations" and "Crossing the Wall" which were staged at Beit Lessin.

According to Tali, the choice of him to write her solo show was not obvious.

"It was really not clear he would write. Oren and I are a couple who usually do not quarrel. Regardless of the breakup we had. But when we tried to work together - we were many. ".

Books about the show.

"It's actually a small mini-musical. It has original songs written for me by Ohad Hitman and Moriah Levy, as well as existing songs for which we changed the lyrics."

You are married and have children.

What about you and the character of a bride who refuses to get married?

"This character is really not me, but I fully understand the fear of a lifelong commitment. Oren conveys the text in a witty and poignant way. The fact that the premiere is at the Sefi Rivlin Festival is closing a circle for me.

In recent years I have been examining students there in the comic monologue competition, and suddenly I am the flagship show of this thing.

I'm so excited.

"Sefi was a comic genius."

Apart from Tali's show, other intriguing shows will take place as part of the Comedy and Humor Festival, including a combined show by the trio "Ma Kashor", Eli and Mariano and Tam Aharon - which will be performed one after the other;

"Gashash Concerto and Orchestra", a production of the Israeli Opera and the Revolution Orchestra with Shaike Levy;

Eran Zarchovich, who will host Liat Har Lev;

Rami Vered in a new stand-up show;

Nadav Abaxis in a stand-up show, and more.
