The Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative honored 111 outstanding sons and daughters of the martyrs in all academic levels today, within the “Najma Watan” ceremony, which was held in the Martyrs’ Girls’ Schools in Mezzeh in Damascus.
And in the honoring ceremony, which included artistic and patriotic performances and traditional dance performances presented by the choir of the daughters of the martyrs.
The Director of the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Affairs, Major General Bassam Berri, stated that the honor is an appreciation of the students' excellence and diligence and loyalty to the sacrifices of their fathers who were martyred in defense of the homeland, its security and stability.
The director of the boarding schools for the sons and daughters of the martyrs, Major General Lamis Rajab, also affirmed that all efforts have been made to raise the level of scientific and cognitive students because their strength is through their education.
In turn, the head of the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative, Dr. Ahmed al-Koud, said, “We are proud as an institution when we see the sons of martyrs blazing their path towards knowledge with success and excellence in their academic and scientific achievement.”
In a statement to reporters, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa stressed the importance of honoring outstanding students to motivate them to excel in the following academic stages and in various fields of life.
For his part, the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Adel Al-Olabi, stated that the outstanding are the real wealth of the nation, and honoring the sons and daughters of the martyrs is a tribute to their fathers who offered the highest meanings of sacrifice and giving.
The honor was attended by the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation, Admiral Alek Vladimirovich Zhuravlov, as well as educational, party and official events.
