Recall due to nicotine - insecticide and drug

As is well known, the neurotoxin nicotine occurs in the tobacco plant.

It serves the plant to defend itself naturally against insects and insect damage.

In fact, it is one of the oldest known plant protection toxins, i.e. pesticides.

It is well tolerated by plants and is also biodegradable.

It is unhealthy and toxic to humans.

"Due to the high toxicity of nicotine, there has been a ban on its use since the 1970s," writes chemie.de.

"Synthetically manufactured insecticides such as E605 have been used as substitutes."
