"For a week, it's a lot, and everything increases at the same time, especially since January", confides the young woman who must deprive herself of outings, restaurants.

Before, a packet of pasta cost him 45 cents.
Today, it is displayed between 65 and 70 cents.

I used to pay 40-45 cents for it, now 70 cents!
It's really increased, even if it's 10-20 cents, it's going up and you can feel it at the end of the month.

The purchasing power of the French has taken a serious hit for several weeks.
The reason for this price spike?
“There was of course the Covid crisis which had effects on purchasing power, underlines Mathieu Plane, deputy director of the French Observatory of Economic Conditions (OFCE).
But there was also, at the end of the crisis, a significant rise in prices linked in part to the increase in the cost of raw materials”.
