“There was of course the Covid crisis which had effects on purchasing power, underlines Mathieu Plane, deputy director of the French Observatory of Economic Conditions (OFCE).

But there was also, at the end of the crisis, a significant rise in prices linked in part to the increase in the cost of raw materials”.
