They are three, and are about to mark the history of the prestigious ceremony.
Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall have been chosen to host the 94th Academy Awards, which will take place March 27 in Los Angeles, the Academy confirmed on Tuesday, February 15, on the "Good Morning America" show.
This is the first time that three women have presented the event together.
And the trio assures it, no one should be bored in front of their screen.
"We want people to get ready to have fun," the actresses wrote in a joint statement.
Amy Schumer added, "I don't know who thought it was a good idea, but I'm going to present the Oscars with my friend Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall.
I better go see some movies.”
A trio that television producer Will Packer called "dynamic and hilarious."
Accustomed to the boards
And for good reason: Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer have become, over the years, the queens of stand-up.
The first is a regular on the boards.
The comedian has written and performed four shows, including his one-woman show
Wanda Sykes: Not Normal
, which aired in 2019 on Netflix.
She is also the heroine and creator of the series
The Upshaw Family,
and has starred in comedies such as
A Crazy Dinner
(2020) and
The Year of Weddings
(2020).
For her part, Amy Schumer is just as comfortable on stage.
She thus evokes her marriage and her pregnancy in the show
Growing
, unveiled in 2019 on Netflix.
If she started on the scenes of New York comedy clubs in the 2000s, it was with the film
Crazy Amy
that she met with real public success.
She has since officiated alongside Wanda Sykes in
Snatched
(2017).
Regina Hall is also familiar with the comedy world.
She was revealed by the parody saga
Scary Movie
, at the beginning of the 2000s. The heroine of
Girls Trip
(2017) was subsequently nominated for multiple NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Awards, which reward the best performances of the year, notably for his roles in
Black Monday
(2019) and
The Hate U Give
(2018).
She will soon star in the thriller
Master
.
