To make pancakes, fried eggs or fried steak, you need a pan.

When is the best time to clean a steel pan?

Now!

Do not leave the dirty steel pan on the stove or sink for too long, as the leftover food can dry on it.

Because a

than if you lend a hand immediately after cooking.

It is advisable to wash the dishes even while the pan is still warm.

If you have waited too long and your pan is already cold - no problem:

simply heat the steel pan again

to clean it.

Then the dried-on leftovers soften again and can be easily removed.

  • Put some salt in the steel pan to be cleaned and rub it in with a sponge or kitchen paper.

  • Adding some water will form a paste and you may have an easier time.

The salt can also be rubbed dry into the pan.

  • Alternatively, you can add some oil.

Compared to water, the oil has the advantage that the salt in it does not dissolve as quickly and the peeling effect is therefore greater.

  • Then rinse the pan and let it dry well - for example by heating it briefly on the stove.
