Vaccinated then infected, is my vaccination pass valid indefinitely?

Having been vaccinated and then infected allows you to avoid the compulsory booster dose to keep your vaccination pass... on one condition: that the test

Certificate of recovery valid without an end date… but not for everyone.

On February 2, Olivier Véran had indicated that people fully vaccinated (before the booster dose) and then tested positive would not need to receive an additional dose to keep their vaccination pass.

The fact of having been infected would give them the right to the precious sesame, without time limit.

Until then, such a reinstatement certificate was only valid for four months.

What the Minister of Health did not specify is that there would be a condition.

Which ?

That the positive test was carried out more than 3 months after the last vaccine injection.

So if you got your two doses last summer and then tested positive during the massive wave of the Omicron variant in December or January, you're in the thick of it.

TousAntiCovid update

Once the TousAntiCovid application has been updated on your smartphone, you will be able to generate a new recovery certificate with no end of validity, via the “Pass +” tool.

You will need to “combine your proof of positive test with your initial vaccination certificate”, indicates the Ministry of Health.

However, be careful of one thing: when traveling abroad, some countries require you to have received a booster dose.

Your valid vaccination pass in France will therefore not be sufficient.

The scenario is more complex if you were fully vaccinated last summer but caught Covid in mid-September, for example, so less than three months later.

In this case, your certificate of reinstatement is only available for four months.

In mid-February, as the validity period has just been reduced from seven to four months, do not be surprised if TousAntiCovid shows you that you no longer have a vaccination pass.

Only one solution is available to you to recover your pass: receive a booster dose.

Your QR Code will in theory be reactivated after a week, but the government has promised tolerance during the first days to "jump" this deadline.

Note that the booster dose should be given at least three months after infection.

In other words, if your vaccination pass is still active and you do not want to lose it for a single day, you have a window of opportunity of only one month (between three and four months after the positive test) to receive the reminder.
