Broadcast date, cast, plot... Overview of what the new episodes of Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano's series have in store for us.

Nervous, tearful or simply existential crises... In the first season of

In therapy

, adapted from the Israeli series

Be'Tipul

and broadcast on Arte in February 2021, the office of Dr Philippe Dayan (Frédéric Pierrot) was the scene of many upheavals.

From the couple in crisis to the suicidal teenager, passing by the lovesick surgeon and the BRI agent traumatized by his intervention at the Bataclan, the psychoanalyst welcomed into his office souls in pain, whose existences were sometimes clashed.

Stories so poignant that Dr. Dayan himself decided to consult his former analyst.

A program with a five-star cast – Mélanie Thierry, Reda Kateb, Carole Bouquet and even Pio Marmaï follow one another – which remains, to this day, the most viewed series on the Arte site, with 36.5 million views.

A year later, the release date of its season 2 was unveiled during a press conference, which was held on Thursday, February 17.

It will thus be necessary to wait until March 31 to discover this new burst of episodes on the site of the chain, announced its creators Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.

A leap in time

This new season, the first five episodes of which will be broadcast on Arte on April 7, will offer a leap in time.

Its heroes will evolve five years after season 1, in the spring of 2020, at the end of the first confinement.

Dr Philippe Dayan will count four new patients: Inès (Eye Haïdara), a lawyer with an orderly life, Robin (Aliocha Delmotte), an overweight teenager harassed at school, Lydia (Suzanne Lindon), a student with a serious illness and Alain (Jacques Weber), a business leader caught in the middle of a media storm.

Dr. Dayan is also at a turning point in his life.

Divorced, sued by the family of one of his former patients, the psychiatrist, who now receives his patients at Les Lilas, asks for help from Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a successful analyst and essayist, from whom he hopes garner support for the ongoing trial.

We will also witness the return of Carole Bouquet, Clémence Poésy and Pio Marmaï, in their respective roles.

The writing direction of the series was entrusted to Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat (

Nona and her daughters

).

The 35 episodes were also directed by Emmanuelle Bercot, Agnès Jaoui, Arnaud Desplechin, Emmanuel Finkiel, Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.

"We wanted to create a team," explained the latter at a press conference.

A collective work to discover on the small screen from April.
