Twenty actions against expensive bills and waste of energy: from turning off the lights and heating when we leave the house to not opening the windows if the thermo is on and turning off the PC if we don't use it.

Enea presents them in a guide, on the occasion of the International Energy Saving Day, Friday 18 February.

Ten tips concern the efficient use of heating (Decalogue heating) and another 10 the 'intelligent' use of energy.

A few daily behaviors are enough to save up to 10% on the bill, according to the Energy Efficiency Department of the Public Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development which, in addition to not exceeding the temperature in the home, i.e. beyond 20 degrees suggests "among the most effective moves to cut consumption (and expenses) are LED bulbs, with which energy savings of about 85% can be achieved".

Even high-energy class household appliances are an effective antidote to expensive energy: the cost difference between having a high-energy class refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven and heat pump at home and the lowest energy class goes up to 40%.

Attention also to small gestures such as shielding the windows during the night with shutters, shutters or curtains to reduce heat loss and to turn off the stand-by: in fact, those that seem harmless lights can weigh up to 10% on the bill if left on. the weather.

So it's good to use standby stops.

Don't forget to defrost the fridge and freezer, pay attention to the clothes hanging out to dry on the radiator or to the sofa in front of the radiator and the lights on when you leave a room.

Other cost-cutting solutions concern the type of boiler and maintenance of the systems, the check-up of the building (energy diagnosis) up to more structural interventions to improve insulation.
