Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol: Various works by modern masters will go under the hammer at Sotheby's in the spring in the course of a divorce.
The auction house announced that it will offer 30 works on May 16 in New York.
The artworks belong to US real estate agent Harry Macklowe and his former wife Linda.
The couple collected works by prominent 20th-century artists for over 40 years.
After their split in 2016, a judge ordered the collection to be sold as part of the divorce settlement.
The auction house estimates that the pieces have a total value of several hundred million dollars.
Among the works to be auctioned are sculptures by Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Jeff Koons.
There are also various paintings such as »Seascape« by Gerhard Richter from 1975. According to Sotheby's, its value is at least 25 million dollars.
The auction house estimates the figure »Diego sur stèle II« by Alberto Giacometti at at least seven million dollars.

The painting »No.
7 by Mark Rothko sold for $82.5 million.
Jackson Pollock's painting Number 17 fetched $61 million, and Andy Warhol's Sixteen Jackies nearly $34 million.
A public exhibition of works from the May sale is planned at Sotheby's in London from Tuesday to March 2nd.
