(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 19 - Foreign Minister Luigi DiMaio is today in Munich to participate in the extraordinary G7 Ministerial organized by the German Presidency, as part of the 58th Munich Security Conference.
Tensions between Ukraine and the Russian Federation will be at the center of the meeting, the aim of which is to strengthen coordination in order to achieve an easing of tensions and a peaceful, sustainable and lasting settlement of the crisis.
During the meeting - infroma the Farnesina - Di Maio will inform his counterparts about what he had discussed with Ministers Kuleba and Lavrov on the occasion of his recent mission to Kiev and Moscow, during which he strongly encouraged both sides to seek a diplomatic solution. we will also talk about Iran and the negotiations underway in Vienna for the relaunch of the JCPoA, of which Minister Di Maio has repeatedly reaffirmed the importance of guaranteeing the stability and security of the region.
Finally, the meeting will allow to take stock of the situation in Libya in the light of the latest developments in the country.
Unity of purpose and multilateral cooperation are fundamental aspects for the pursuit of a Libyan-led political process,
facilitated by the United Nations and which makes it possible to realize the democratic aspirations of the Libyan people, while keeping the electoral perspective firmly established.
