The Hume Foundation, on the occasion of Codogno's second anniversary, has prepared a text with 10 questions for the CTS and politicians
The time has come - claims the Foundation - for those who managed the epidemic to answer the many questions that so far have not found an answer.
Here are the ten that seem most important to us:
1. Why, at the beginning of the pandemic, was it declared that Italy was “very ready” to deal with the virus, despite the fact that the 2006 anti-pandemic plan had not been implemented, let alone updated?
2. Why, after taking into consideration the immediate closure (first days of March) of the Nembro and Alzano area, did we give up on putting it into effect?
3. Because the open letter of the Italian scientists who, since March 29, 2020, had suggested replacing the protracted lockdowns with the protocol of the eastern countries, based on mass testing, electronic tracking and real quarantines (not in the family )?
4. Why, at least after the first year, has no epidemiological surveillance and early warning system been created in schools?
5. Why were engineers and air quality scholars excluded from the Technical-Scientific Committee?
6. Why, despite the scientific evidence available since the summer of 2020, was airborne transmission of the virus first denied and then neglected?
7. Because, even after the recognition of the airborne transmission of the virus by the WHO (July 2020), the problem of securing closed environments has never been
addressed in engineering terms, that is, guaranteeing, even through controlled mechanical ventilation , the quality of the air breathed?
8. Why are interventions for the safety of respiratory pathogens in closed environments not included in the PNRR?
9. Why was transmission of the virus by vaccinated people denied until the last part of 2021, but then - erroneously - to consider it negligible compared to that of the
unvaccinated?
10. Why did the administration of the third dose only begin in October 2021 when at least from June, thanks to Israeli data, the reduced temporal protection of vaccines
with respect to the risk of contagion was known?
