24 / year old Puerto Rican Sofía Jirau makes history by becoming the first Victoria's Secret model with Down syndrome.
The young woman announced it on Instagram: "I dreamed it, I worked on it and today is a dream come true. I can finally reveal my big secret", she said on the social network.
The company - as reported by the Wall Street Journal - explained that Jirau will be part of the new campaign announced this week and called the Love Cloud Collection.

The new line will be presented by 18 models from different backgrounds and aims to celebrate all women.
In an interview, the young woman said that she has been a model since she was a child, and she has always dreamed of this becoming her career.
In 2020 she appeared at New York Fashion Week and also in several commercials.
She this year - she continued - she will travel to France, Spain and Italy to collaborate with some designers, but she intends to continue living in Puerto Rico.
"I would like to inspire everyone - she explained to the WSJ - Let them understand that even if they have Down syndrome they can still be models, they can have a job. They have to work hard and anything is possible".
The arrival of Jirau in the Victoria's Secret team marks another step forward on the inclusion front for the company, which after having shifted the focus from 'conventional' models (even if it has not abandoned them completely) to more curvy figures , has recently started featuring pregnant, paraplegic, plus size, and transgender women.
