Manufacturer recalls fitness bars

A sports nutrition manufacturer's oat bar may contain salmonella.

The manufacturer LSP Sportnahrung is recalling a fitness bar: Because an infestation with salmonella could be present, the bar should not be eaten under any circumstances.
Bonn - Salmonella poisoning can be dangerous: That's why consumers and manufacturers quickly prick up their ears if there could be a possible contamination.
This could not be ruled out with the oat bars from a manufacturer of sports nutrition.
The producer LSP Sportnahrung therefore launched a recall for the fitness bar of the "Oat King" brand.
Recall of fitness bars: suspected salmonella
“For reasons of preventive consumer protection”, LSP Sportnahrung GmbH is recalling its article, according to a company statement.
The oat bar of the "Milk & Honey" variety with the best before date September 20, 2022 and batch number 777 is affected.
According to the manufacturer, it cannot be ruled out that the goods concerned contain salmonella in individual bars.
Consumers are therefore strongly advised against consuming the bar.
Poisoning by the bacteria can include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain or fever.
Particularly sensitive consumer groups such as children, pregnant women or the elderly should be careful.
The "Oat King" brand oat bar has been withdrawn from the market due to the risk of salmonella.

Product recall: A number of federal states are affected by the warning
As the company informs, the article has already been withdrawn from the market.
Customers who have already purchased the product can return it to their supermarket for a refund of the purchase price without presenting the receipt.
The warning was issued for the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein.
Salmonella infestation is a common reason for product recalls: the drugstore Rossmann had to withdraw a breakfast spread from sale as a result.
