Agenas, intensive therapies stopped at 10%, 10 regions beyond the threshold

Occupation of ward positions stable at 20% at national level (ANSA)    After the decline of the last few days, in Italy the percentage of beds in intensive care occupied by patients with Covid-19 is still at 10%, as well as the employment of non-critical medical departments at 20%. These are the Agenas data, updated as of 20 February and which show, for both parameters, different regional fluctuations.     To exceed the national threshold of 10% of intensive care


   After the decline of the last few days, in Italy the percentage of beds in intensive care occupied by patients with Covid-19 is still at 10%, as well as the employment of non-critical medical departments at 20%.

These are the Agenas data, updated as of 20 February and which show, for both parameters, different regional fluctuations.



    To exceed the national threshold of 10% of intensive care places occupied by Covid patients are 10 regions: Lazio at 16%;

Calabria and Sardinia at 13%;

12% of Liguria, Marche, Sicily and Valle d'Aosta;

Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Puglia at 11%. 

   In detail, within 24 hours, according to the daily monitoring of the National Agency of Regional Health Services, the percentage of beds in intensive care occupied by patients with Covid-19 grows in Calabria (to 13%) and Liguria (12 %), while it decreases in 7 regions: Friuli Venezia Giulia (11%), Lombardy (8%), Marche (12%), Sardinia (13%), Tuscany (10%), Umbria (8%), Valle d ' Aosta (12%).

   The rate, on the other hand, is stable in 12 regions: Abruzzo (9%), Basilicata (1%), Campania (7%), Emilia Romagna (11%), Lazio (16%), Molise (10%), Pa Bolzano (3%), Pa Trento (7%), Piedmont (8%), Puglia (11%), Sicily (12%) and Veneto (5%).

As regards the occupation of beds in medical (or 'non-critical') wards by patients with Covid-19, on a daily basis, the percentage grows in 6 regions: Abruzzo (32%), Basilicata ( 28%), Pa Bolzano (with +3 reaches 17%), Piedmont (19%), Umbria (27%), Valle d'Aosta (15%).

While it drops in 3: Campania (25%), Marche (26%), Molise (with -3, it drops to 15%).

   Finally, the rate is stable in 12 regions: Calabria (30%), Emilia Romagna (19%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (26%), Lazio (26%), Liguria (26%), Lombardy (13%), Pa Trento (15%), Puglia (25%), Sardinia (23%), Sicily (31%), Tuscany (19%) and Veneto (13%).

All the regions and autonomous provinces except 5 (Lombardy, Molise, Pa Trento, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto) are over the threshold of 15% of medical (or non-critical) beds occupied by patients with Covid-19.

The alert thresholds for the occupation of beds for Covid patients are set at 10% for intensive care and 15% for medical departments.
