"We believe that Westerners are not determined to reach an agreement," said the official in reference to the representatives of France, Great Britain and Germany who, since November 29, have been in the Austrian capital for negotiations in which Russia and China also participate as well as the Islamic republic.
"The principle of Iran is the removal of all sanctions that are against the commitments made by the other participants under the 2015 agreement and also against their promises regarding economic benefits for Iran," Khatibzadeh stressed regarding the sanctions imposed by Washington. on Tehran in 2018 after the US withdrawal from the pact decided by then President Donald Trump.
"Starting with the red lines set by Iran during the talks, we will protect Iran's rights and the achievement of its peaceful nuclear program and will not accept any compromise regarding the rights of the Iranian people," the official said.
The latter stressed that the talks have progressed considerably and not long to reach the pact, although the details of some key points remain to be clarified, including guarantees that should be provided by the West.
