Until three full years ago, getting the wings of the official angel of "Victoria's Secret" was like a crude fantasy for any model who wants to fulfill herself in the field.

Being part of the meticulous and picky modeling cast, became over time a taboo as the annual and glorious show got off the air.

Along with the decline, Top Models' appalling evidence of self-abuse rose to reach the brand's "standard" skinny dimensions.

Following the harsh reviews, the owners of the company learned that the traditional beauty model had changed and were forced to make an intense change.

Update a version of themselves for the current era, not to lose the women's love for the brand and of course the profits - which come mainly from the pockets of men who dream of a false fantasy, due to the provocative branding.

It went on to recruit both professional and amateur models: from plus size like Eli Tate Cutler to Valentina Sempio as the first transgender.

Now, they have raised a level and recruited a first model with Down Syndrome.

Meet Sofia Giro (24), a Puerto Rican model who makes history and is accepted to be the next top model.

She appears alongside 17 other women, including Haley Bieber, to promote the new Comfort collection, with the message being "accept and celebrate all women."

This is not Giro's first job.

She started her career in 2019 when she walked the various runways (also New York Fashion Week 2020) and set up an online clothing store in her name.

In the post the exposure stated that she can finally discover the big secret and thanks everyone for helping convey the message “inside and out there are no boundaries”.

In the brand feed, alongside the campaign image she added: "It's a dream come true. I'm happy to be able to show everyone that Sofia Giro is going to shine around the world. I feel safe because 'fear' is not in my vocabulary."

Sofia presents an additional and common body structure to many other women in her dimensions.

The exact height is not known by any parameter - it is indeed relatively low, due to late physical development that is familiar to people with similar disabilities, but is considered high when it comes to people with Down syndrome.

The Latin look definitely exists - the blonde in the flowing hair, the prominent muscles are well tasted and the unending springiness and joy can not be missed.

The new and diverse campaign is part of Victoria's Secret's ongoing attempts to revamp the narrow image of the 'ultimate sexy' it has nurtured for decades.

If at first the effort seemed ridiculous and pathetic to the masses, it is precisely the retirement of the angels that is a necessary move, because this time, something right seems to be happening here.
