During the storm on Monday, a man fell from a 70 meter high motorway bridge near Herborn in Hesse and was fatally injured.

According to previous knowledge, the 53-year-old truck driver had been hit by a gust of wind, had lost his balance and had fallen, as the police in Dillenburg are now reporting.

Previously, mittelhessen.de and "Bild" had reported on the accident.

The man apparently wanted to lash down the tarpaulin

The man's body was accidentally found by witnesses on Monday morning below the Ambach Viaduct, which belongs to the A45.

The police assume that the man got out on this bridge and the gust caught him when he tried to lash down a tarpaulin of his truck.

The victim comes from the Lahn-Dill district.

Initially, the police had investigated because of a possible suicide, but according to the police spokesman, this suspicion was not confirmed.

The location of the truck and the body would indicate a tragic accident.
