The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has given the green light for the administration, when deemed appropriate, of the third dose of the anti-Covid Comirnaty vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech) for adolescents aged 12 years and over.
The EMA also recommended today extending the use of Moderna's Spikevax Covid vaccine to children between the ages of 6 and 11.
The vaccine has already received the green light for administration to adults and adolescents 12 years and older.
The dose to be used for children, reads a note from the EMA, must be approximately half of that expected for adults.
