(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 24 - "This morning we heard the bombings on the outskirts of Zhytomyr, about 30 km from here, where the Ozerne air base is. The children stayed at home, now there are only 6 of us at school between teachers and staff. We are in refuge and try to understand what to do ".
She tells ANSANataliya Nagalevska, a teacher of the Ukrainian-Italian school 'Vsesvit' in Zhytomyr, 150 km west of Kiev.
"Our province borders on Belarus, there are rumors that some tanks have entered from there," she adds.
"Our physical education teacher is military and has now left to go to war", continues the Italian professor of the private school run by the Salesians, usually attended by 200 boys between 6 and 17 years of age and which also includes an oratory.
"People are bewildered, fear has come suddenly: the Russians want to get close to Kiev and surround it," Nagalevska explains.
"Now let's talk slowly and try to figure out what to do", she concludes.
