It's been a long day for the Ukrainians.
At dawn, Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to attack the country on several fronts, and to bomb several cities in the country, at strategic points.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, the fighting left several dozen dead.
Helicopters patrol the sky, tanks enter cities, airports explode under bombs.
And the offensive does not only concern the east: the whole country, even the capital Kiev, is in the Russian sights.
No escape for civilians.
There are many of them, however, to try, the roads are saturated with cars and buses trying to reach a region further west, or even Poland, which is hosting the refugees.

For the others, less fortunate, it is a question of taking shelter in the metro entrances.
Their life now fits in a suitcase.
Even if the offensives do not directly target civilians, residences that are unfortunately a little too close have been shattered by the blast of a bomb that is too close.
Residents were injured, others died.
Some have lost their homes.
They are dazed, the war suddenly becomes very real.
Other Ukrainians are busy forming endless queues in front of food stores, pharmacies, banks.
After a day at war with one of the greatest military powers in the world, a common point unites the Ukrainians: they are afraid, but are determined to fight for their homeland.
