The situation in hospitals has steadily improved in France.

All indicators are down.

This Friday.

25,484 Covid-19 positive patients are hospitalized in France, according to the latest report published by Public Health France.

They were 26,118 the day before and 29,194 seven days ago.

Daily hospitalizations thus fell by -26% over one week.

In critical care departments (intensive care, continuous monitoring and resuscitation), 2,546 Covid-19 positive patients are currently hospitalized compared to 2,656 on Thursday and 2,970 a week ago.

If this rate of decline remained constant, the threshold for lifting the vaccination pass (1,500) would be reached around March 20.

About a third of Covid patients admitted to hospital each day and a quarter of those admitted to critical care are initially admitted for a reason other than the coronavirus (while having been infected).

Contaminations are also decreasing.

58,138 contaminations were recorded on Friday by Public Health France, against 66,732 the day before and against 82,553 last Friday.

The average over the past week is 63,132 cases per day (-32% in one week).

But Public Health France deplores 188 new deaths of positive patients in hospital in the past 24 hours.

Since the start of the pandemic, 137,958 people positive for the virus have died.
