Césars 2022: "Lost Illusions", "Aline"... where to see the award-winning films?

The 2022 Césars ceremony, broadcast on Friday February 25 in the clear on Canal + was tasteless, but the prize list rewarded films that made us vibrate.

Some are even still screened in dark rooms.

"Lost Illusions"

The big winner of the Césars evening is currently playing in a lot of theaters in France, since 150 copies were redeployed from Wednesday February 23.

"Lost Illusions", adapted from Balzac's novel about a provincial poet who sets out to conquer the capital, won the prizes for best film, actor in a supporting role (Vincent Lacoste), male hope (Benjamin Voisin), adaptation, photography, costumes and sets.

Xavier Giannoli's feature film will be released on DVD on March 30.

"Anne"

Musical comedy in the form of a baroque drama set to music by the Sparks, “Annette” follows a couple of artists played by Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, upset by the birth of their first child.

Winner of five prizes (production for Leos Carax, original music, sound, editing and visual effects), the feature film is already available on MyCanal as well as on VOD (from 4.99 euros) and on DVD.

"Onoda, 10,000 Nights in the Jungle"

Awarded for best original screenplay, "Onoda" tells the story of a Japanese soldier who spent almost thirty years on a tiny island in the Philippines, convinced that the Second World War was not over.

Arthur Hariri and Vincent Poymiro's film is available on MyCanal, on VOD (from 4.99 euros) and on DVD.

“The Father”

After two Oscars (best adapted screenplay and best actor for Anthony Hopkins), the poignant drama by Florian Zeller, about an old man who gradually loses grip with reality, was crowned best foreign film at the Césars.

It is available on MyCanal, as well as on VOD (from 3.99 euros) and on DVD.

" The divide "

A night in the emergency room in a large Parisian hospital: this is the scene of the “Fracture”.

Thanks to the prize for best female supporting role awarded to Aïssatou Diallo Sagna, caregiver in the city, Catherine Corsini's film interfered in the prize list.

It is already available on VOD (from 9.99 euros) and will be released on DVD on March 16.

" Aline "

Valérie Lemercier was crowned best actress for her film inspired by the life of Celine Dion.

She traces the rise of this girl from a large family in Quebec, who will become an international star.

A few cinemas are still showing it in France and it will be released on DVD on March 16.

" In his lifetime "

In this moving feature film on the end of life, Benoît Magimel embodies Benjamin, suffering from incurable pancreatic cancer.

The actor is playing the role of his life there and has well deserved his César for best actor.

Emmanuelle Bercot's film can still be viewed in a few theaters and will be released on DVD on March 24.

"The Event"

Anamaria Vartolomei interprets in “The Event” a pregnant student, who decides to have an abortion.

In the France of the early 1960s, the intervention was illegal but the young woman was determined.

The 22-year-old actress was awarded as the best female hope.

Still showing in a few theaters, the film will be released on DVD on March 30.

"The Magnetics"

Best first film for Vincent Maël Cardona, with "Les Magnétiques".

This initiatory story of a young man who sets up a free radio in the 1980s has almost disappeared from the poster and will be released on DVD on April 19.

"The Summit of the Gods"

The best animated film, adapted from a manga, follows the adventures of a journalist based in Nepal.

He embarks on the trail of legendary mountaineers in an exciting human epic.

This feature film is already available on VOD (from 1.99 euro) and on DVD.

A handful of screenings in theaters are still on the schedule.

"The Snow Panther"

In this splendid ode to the solitude of big cats, photographer Vincent Munier and writer Sylvain Tesson search for the elusive snow leopard in the Tibetan highlands.

Very spectacular, the film is for everyone, young and old.

Crowned best documentary, it is still being screened in some cinemas and will be released on DVD on April 19.
