(ANSA) - ROME, 02 MAR - "Freedom will always triumph over tyranny".
This was stated by American President Joe Biden opening his first speech on the State of the Union.
Vladimir Putin "miscalculated": he thought he would invade Ukraine without any problem but found himself "facing a wall that was not expected, that of the Ukrainians".
Putin - said Biden- is more isolated than ever in the world, "we are united" against his "premeditated and unprovoked" war.
The US president called Putin "a dictator".
"Americans, I want to be honest with you, as I have always promised you. A Russian dictator" is invading a foreign country and will pay a high price for it.
"In the battles against autocracies, democracies are united".
