Covid-19 in France: 167 new deaths, hospital pressure continues to decrease

Public Health France lists 23,175 infected people hospitalized this Thursday - against 23,840 on Wednesday and 26,118 last Thursday.

Among them, 2,231 are treated in critical care against 2,329 the day before and 2,656 seven days ago.

Olivier Véran announced on February 22 several thresholds to allow the suspension of the vaccine pass, in particular to return below 1,500 Covid patients in critical care.

1037 new hospital admissions were recorded on Thursday, against 1330 the day before and 1352 last week.

As for critical care services, 100 entries were recorded, against 153 on Wednesday and 150 last Thursday.

These daily critical care admissions fell by -24% in one week.

The human toll of the epidemic continues to increase: there were 167 deaths in 24 hours in hospital.

Daily deaths fell -26% over a week.

Since the beginning more than two years ago, at least

138,942 victims have been identified in France.

In 24 hours, 60,225 new contaminations were identified by Public Health France against 66,732 last Thursday.

While the number of positive cases identified each day decreased by around 45% per week in mid-February, we fall this evening to just under -10%.

Note that the number of tests carried out each day also drops a little less quickly.

It will be necessary to follow, in the coming days, if the positivity rate stabilizes after having decreased significantly.
