US shock rocker Marilyn Manson has sued his former partner, Evan Rachel Wood, for defamation.
The actress accuses the 53-year-old of having raped her during a video shoot.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, filed the lawsuit against her on Wednesday (local time) in Los Angeles.
He linked the documents on Instagram.
In one post he wrote that one day he would be able to say more about what was happening.
For now, he would let the facts speak for themselves.
In the lawsuit, he alleges that Wood and her friend Illma Gore publicly portrayed him as a rapist and abuser and encouraged other women to make allegations against him.
Manson claims that his career was damaged as a result.
He demands damages in an undisclosed amount.
Wood accused her ex-boyfriend of years of "horrible" abuse in an Instagram post in February 2021.
The singer had immediately rejected this at the time.
His art and life have long been "magnets for controversy," but the claims about him are "horrible distortions of reality," he wrote on Instagram at the time.
In a documentary released in January, Wood then accused Manson of rape.
A "simulated sex scene" for the video for the 2007 single "Heart-Shaped Glasses" had been agreed.
"But as soon as the cameras rolled, he started really penetrating me," the 34-year-old said in "Phoenix Rising."
Other women have brought allegations or lawsuits against 53-year-old Manson for sexual or physical violence in recent months.
Among them is »Game of Thrones« actress Esmé Bianco.
The police launched an investigation.
Last November, officers searched the rocker's Los Angeles home.
According to a previous release from the sheriff's office, the investigation involved allegations of domestic violence between 2009 and 2011 when Manson lived in West Hollywood.
After the allegations became known, the record company Loma Vista Recordings had separated from Manson.
He continues to record, however, and was featured on Kanye West's album Donda last year.
