Robert Pattinson has indeed started a drastic diet in anticipation of the filming of
The Batman
.
So much so that the 35-year-old actor had to "count the sips of water" he ingested daily, as he revealed to
People
magazine on Tuesday, March 1.
"I was about three months before filming started, and I was training before and after work, all the time," he said during the film's premiere.

“Shame is my engine”
A period during which the actor had to watch everything he ate… and drank.
“I was just reducing the portions before shooting the scenes where I appeared shirtless, and I was counting the sips of water,” he continued.
Asked by journalist Jeremy Parsons about his main source of motivation, the hero of
Twilight
spoke about showing his body on the screen.
“Shame is my main driver, 100%,” he joked.
The 30-year-old also mentioned the first time he slipped into the superhero costume.
“The closer the shooting got, the more paranoid I became – you know, you feel ridiculous just sitting at home, rehearsing in a t-shirt, he explained.
Then you put on the costume.
And that gives you a kind of power.”
Before adding: “People react differently to you, the film crew in particular.
Suddenly, your world changes (…) It's like wearing a crown.”
It remains to be seen whether the actor will himself be crowned at the box office.
