Because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, more and more retailers are doing without products from Russia.

The list of foods specifically affected is long.

Munich – A supermarket chain represented in the north and east of Germany made the start.

In protest against the Russian escalation in the Ukraine conflict, Netto is throwing all products made in Russia out of the range.

The dealer set off a chain reaction.

As a result, more and more retailers announced that they would ban Russian goods from supermarket shelves.

At Rewe and Penny, food produced in Russia is being phased out, while Edeka is still considering it.

A drugstore chain chose a different path: Rossmann supports people affected by the war with relief supplies.

According to its own statements, Aldi Süd has so far had only one item from Russia: vodka.

It shouldn't be there anymore for the time being.

"We have decided to discontinue the item for an indefinite period of time." The discounter wants to set an example in the current situation.

Aldi Nord also banned Russian schnapps from the shelves.

"Our thoughts are with all the people who suffer from war and violence," emphasized Aldi Nord.

The vodka ban at Aldi is apparently the first step in a large-scale boycott of Russian food.
