"Eurovision France 2022, you decide!" on France 2: here are our five favorites

2022-03-05T09:01:54.196Z

On Saturday March 5, La Deux viewers will vote to designate the French representative who will participate in the international competition.

Who will have the (heavy) task of succeeding Barbara Pravi in 2022 to represent France in the European song contest?

Saturday March 5 on France 2 (from 9:05 p.m.), the program "Eurovision, it's you who decide", hosted live from Plaine-Saint-Denis by Laurence Boccolini and Stéphane Bern, will present the 12 artists in competition in a very eclectic musical selection.

Whoever will wear the French colors in Turin, during the grand final on May 14, will be chosen after a three-step process.

First, public votes will nominate five candidates.

The jury, made up of ten personalities and chaired by Jenifer, will award a sixth “euro-ticket” to her favourite.

The counters will be reset, then the jurors and the anonymous behind their screens will elect the winner 50/50.

"It's a slightly less varied selection than last year, but France is there and wants to stand out," says Benoît Blaszczyk, secretary of the association of French Eurofans.

In a poll attended by 143 fans, SOA and Alvan & Aez quickly stood out.

The first with a beautiful song and the second with a title calibrated to party that could work well in a club.

Here are our five favorites.

SOA, a radio calibrated tube

A family adventure.

This is what the duo formed by LudySoa and Nathan, aged 19 and 22 respectively, are trying.

These siblings from Toulouse, originally from Madagascar where they spent their childhood, are fan favorites in the contest.

Their strength: "Only", a title written and composed together with an ultra-effective pop chorus with a sound calibrated for the radio and embellished with a touch of rap.

Alvan & Ahez, the touch of Breton madness

Yes, the Rennes electro scene exists.

And the group Alvan & Ahez is a headliner.

Its leader has already made the first parts of Dj's like Petit Biscuit or Ofenbach.

Composed of Alexis, Marine, Sterenn D. and Sterenn L., three Breton singers who have been friends since high school, the quartet was formed during a meeting at the Transmusicales in Rennes.

He cut his teeth notably at the Interceltic Festival of Lorient or at Celtic Connections in Glasgow.

Proud of his regional identity, he sings in Breton, contemporary stories mixed with traditional myths.

His proposal marries electro to this universe: “Fulenn”, which translates as “spark” and “young girl”, burns with its originality and could do wonders in the quirky atmosphere of the competition.

Saam, in the footsteps of Amir

With his false airs of Amir, dental surgeon like him before he made a career, the dark Saam also recalls Claudio Capéo.

This artist fed with Radiohead, Brassens and Brel but who also likes to quote rappers Niska and Nekfeu, will he manage to convince viewers with his title “Where is he?

»?

He is one of the singers who stood out during confinement with “Grandma” and his lyrics in tribute to his grandmother.

In France, he has already opened for "Frangines" at the Olympia and released his first mini-album in the spring of 2021.

Elia, Booba's protege

Who would have thought that a little protege of Booba (who produced the title) would end up at Eurovision?

Between hip-hop and pop, Elia releases a first mini-album as explosive as it is charming.

This 25-year-old Parisian has a unique personality.

Half Tunisian and half Russian by her parents, she had a flawless school career up to khâgne and hypokhâgne.

Brilliant, the young artist cites Barbara as well as Bach and Beyoncé in her musical influences.

"Telephone", his dance song, could stand out if the rapper's fans rally to vote for it.

Pauline Chagne, between theater and music

With her electric harp and her lyrical flights, between those of Clara Luciani and Juliette Armanet, Pauline Chagne blurs codes, navigating between theater and music.

She held the leading role in the play "Me too, I am Barbara" at the Avignon festival in 2018 and 2019, then at the Rond-Point theater in Paris in the feminist cabaret "I forgive you Harvey Weinstein".

This time, its title "Nuit Pauline

"

is more disco.
