The Center for Arts and Nature in Chaumont-sur-Loire, in Loir-et-Cher, inaugurated a permanent digital gallery of contemporary art on Saturday February 5, a few weeks before the opening of the 30th edition of the International Festival gardens, April 21.
The 300 m2 space, closed since the departure of Princess de Broglie in 1938, takes place in a wing of the castle overlooking the Loire.

The first work presented is that of the Italian artist Quayola, a creation commissioned by the Centre-Val de Loire region, at the origin of the restoration work on the premises, estimated at nearly three million euros.

The gallery, plunged into darkness, hosts a 60 m2 canvas-screen, on which is projected the work of Quayola, inspired by the history of painting from Monet to Van Gogh.
The images were obtained using software that breaks down and analyzes botanical compositions.

The work is no longer a finished object dedicated to contemplation but a creation in the making, of which the artist leaves part of the paternity to the visitor
”, explains Chantal Colleu-Dumond, the director of the domain.
The opening of the digital gallery marks the first episode of the 15th Art Season, which will be held from April 2 to October 30 around 15 contemporary artists.
The International Garden Festival will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, from April 21 to November 6, on the theme of the “
ideal garden
”.
