(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 05 - The law introduced in Russia calling for a squeeze on the media "stems from the urgent need created by an unprecedented information war against Russia", spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, explained to reporters.

"The law has been approved and must be applied. Our Parliament voted for it, explained Peskov. This was reported by Tass. (ANSA).
