The contemporary painter and sculptor Markus Lüpertz, one of the main artists of German neo-expressionism, will exhibit his work from Saturday until September 4 at the Museum of Fine Arts, in the streets and parks of Orleans.
A total of 124 paintings and drawings are presented in the museum's galleries, while eleven monumental and colorful sculptures are scattered in places chosen by this well-mannered dandy, now 80 years old.

The “ Maker of Gods
” exhibition
invites the public to reflect with the artist on the notions of hero and ideal, figuration and abstraction, thanks in particular to his series on Antiquity.

Lüpertz, who defines himself as "

exhibits his paintings in a dense and colorful museography, highlighting his important series on the same theme.
The German artist will be present in Orléans on June 18 for a concert.
The painter, poet, sculptor and recently director is also a free-jazz musician in a group, the Triple Trip Touch.
