Russia tightens the noose on journalists and the dissemination of information on the war.

But the Kremlin army goes even further, by directly attacking foreign journalists on Ukrainian soil.

Earlier this week, five employees of the British media

Sky News

paid the price.

The team tried to take a road from Kiev, in the western part of the city.

There was rubble, but that's normal now.

There were no soldiers, everything seemed deserted

,” correspondent Stuart Ramsay said.

"We were on the attack"

In a video shot via an on-board camera, a small explosion sounds and a tire bursts.

The first shot cracks the windshield and then the gunshots begin to rain down for several seconds.

On the video, broken glass and sparks indicate the power of the shots.

Our cameraman Richie Mockler was hit, but not seriously.

He snuggled into the front passenger floor.

Then we were on the attack

,” said Stuart Ramsey.

The five individuals then try to take cover behind the vehicle.

They shout that they are journalists but the offensive does not weaken.

They manage to escape from the car, but Stuart Ramsey is shot in the lower back.

Thanks to his bulletproof vest, no after-effects are to be deplored.

Along a concrete wall, the journalists take refuge in a factory, where three Ukrainian guards welcome them to their workshop.

According to them, these are not Ukrainian forces but a squad of Russian saboteurs, present in the capital since the beginning of the conflict.

After a return to calm, the team goes to the nearest care center.

Stuart Ramsey says, “

As often happens in difficult situations, you survive the first game and get to safety, then the excitement and fear start to go down.

And you feel tired, really exhausted.

Adrenaline drops, you feel depressed and beaten.

And to conclude: “

War is dirty and becomes more so every day.

Despite this episode, the five correspondents returned the next day to the center of the Ukrainian capital.
