A small miracle in the Ukraine war: After a bomb attack, police officers find a dog in a completely destroyed car.

He was the only one who survived.

Bashtanka (Ukraine) – The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine continues to grab the headlines and offers little cause for hope.

Despite all the terrible news, small miracles keep happening: police officers rescue a small dog, the only one to have survived a bomb attack.

Dramatic images from the Bashtanka region in southern Ukraine show the extent of the destruction after a Russian attack: broken roadblocks, bombed-out houses and a car with shattered windows in the middle.

On their Facebook page, the Ukrainian National Police reported in a post: "No one survived, only the dog survived." Apparently, the four-legged friend could not escape the attack and took refuge from the shelling in the car.

Fearing war, many people have already left the country with their pets.*

There, members of the National Police of Ukraine find the terrified dog and can't believe he survived.

For the police it borders on a small miracle.

The pictures for the Facebook post show how they lovingly free the brave four-legged friend from the car wreck.

They take the dog in and take it to the nearest district office.

"He will protect us and we will protect him," the statement continued.

And the little hero should also have a name.

For the officials, the animal miracle of the cute four-legged friend is a small glimmer of hope in the horrible everyday life of war.

They are willing to give anything for their country and their people, risking their lives every day.

The police ended their Facebook post with the following sentence: “Despite all tests, we are indestructible.

Exhausted, tired, but determined and with a big heart.

Everything will be Ukraine!” *
