The multi-titled tennis player made multiple appearances during Paris fashion week. And thus confirmed his passion for the subject.

From classes to catwalks, there was only one step she took with mastery at Paris Fashion Week.

On February 28, at the Palais Brongniart, Serena Williams stepped forward full of confidence for the Off-White fashion show, in a transparent dress worn over a tight tie-dye jumpsuit, with visible lingerie.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, who was taking her passion for fashion one step further, saw her approach "worthy of a pro", praised by Bella Hadid on Instagram.

The latter had come forward as a bride to close the show in tribute to Virgil Abloh, the creator who died at the age of 41 following cancer in December.

On video the Off-White fall-winter 2022-2023 video:

After the parade, the tennis champion recalled the close ties she had forged with Virgil Abloh, "a friend who meant so much to [her]" and who had signed some of her sportswear.

We particularly remember her ballerina dress, made up of a tulle bottom and an asymmetrical top, during the 2018 US Open. In a comment on Instagram, the late designer admitted to wanting to “design dresses for her for the life".

The founder of Off-White had also created, in collaboration with Nike, the equipment supplier of Serena Williams, a capsule called Queen Collection, inspired by his sporting exploits.

Climb to the front row

Also in Paris, Serena Williams shone as a guest of the Balmain fall-winter 2022-2023 show, on March 2 at the Carreau du temple.

It was in a corseted skirt and a short jacket that drew her athletic build, that Venus' sister took her place in the front row.

A few days before, she had caused a sensation in Milan alongside her daughter Olympia and her husband Alexis Ohanian, at the Gucci show, in a black dress and feather coat.

denim miniskirt

Serena Williams' passion for fashion was born on the courts, where she multiplied innovative outfits, establishing herself as one of the first to break the codes of the traditional tennis skirt.

In 2004, she dared to wear a denim miniskirt at the US Open in New York.

At the Australian Open in 2019, she is betting on the fishnet tights and the green mini jumpsuit.

Anna Wintour, passionate about tennis, has been seen on several occasions alongside Serena Williams.

and the sportswoman appeared to be very accomplices.

Since then, the American champion has made no less than 4 covers of American

.

More recently, she participated in the MET gala, the famous evening organized by the artistic director of Condé Nast, wearing a long feather cape all in shades of pink.

Fundraising

Another possible reason for her participation in this Paris fashion week: her investment fund Serena Ventures.

Serena Williams is the owner of multiple companies, including a clothing brand, S by Serena, which paraded at New York Fashion Week in 2019. The tennis player announced on March 1 that she had successfully raised 111 million dollars (i.e. more than 102 million euros), intended to “support young companies that seek to improve our daily lives through innovative products and services”.
