Former tennis world No.1, Briton Andy Murray, has announced that he will donate his tournament winnings until the end of the season to UNICEF as part of a donation appeal to Ukraine. (HANDLE)


Former tennis world No.1, Briton Andy Murray, has announced that he will donate his tournament winnings until the end of the season to UNICEF as part of a donation appeal to Ukraine.

"I will donate my cash prizes for the rest of the year - tweeted the winner of three Grand Slam tournaments - But anyone in the UK can support UNICEF's humanitarian action by responding to our call for donations."


    Today the High Commissioner for Refugees identified more than two million refugees who fled Ukraine after the Russian invasion.

Hundreds of thousands of them are children, according to Unicef.

"Over 7.5 million children are at risk from escalating conflict in Ukraine, which is why I am working with @UNICEF_uk to help provide emergency medical care and early childhood development kits", ;; ha added the 34-year-old, currently ranked 88th in the ATP ranking.
