With the "Pizzabot" Aldi is currently testing a new product.

Thanks to the robot, customers can get a fresh pizza in a short time.

Where is the machine and what it can do:

Whether the children want a quick snack, something needs to be done quickly during the lunch break, or the bread has run out at home – the baked goods vending machines are well known and popular with the discount giant Aldi.

A push of a button and customers receive their desired product fresh from the machine.

The range extends from rolls, bread and pieces of coffee to cold pizza pieces.

Now Aldi* apparently wants to introduce a real "upgrade" that will provide customers with one of the most popular baked goods snacks - and warm.

It's about crispy pizza that should taste like in a restaurant.

Special goodie: The wood-fired oven taste that is supposed to make the pizza machine.

HEIDELBERG24* reveals in which country the "Pizzabot" is already available - and how it works.

Aldi is testing pizza vending machines abroad: The "Pizzabot" is in operation in this city

But how does the delicious pizza get to Aldi?

The discounter giant is probably relying on a “pizzabot”.

He should not only use the best ingredients, but also be able to offer different types of pizza.

Similar to the baking machine, the "Pizzabot" should also inspire customers.

The only disadvantage: So far, there is no pizza-baking robot in Germany.

The discounter giant is currently testing the pizza-baking robot in one of its Aldi branches abroad* – more specifically in Sydney, Australia.

In an Aldi Corner Store in the north of the metropolis, the "Pizzabot" currently makes around 450 pizzas a day.

Those responsible promise oven-fresh pizza within just two minutes.

Why is the German discounter's pizza pilot taking place in Australia?

Probably because of the developers.

The pizza robot was eventually developed by an Australian start-up called Placer Robotics.

Aldi tests "Pizzabot": This is how the pizza-baking robot works

The pizza is made while customers can watch as the pizza bot has a glass pane.

But: The pizza dough is made by hand, which means that the pizza bot is not entirely autonomous.

In Australia this is done in the Bondi district.

The floors are then covered with all sorts of ingredients, ranging from buffalo mozzarella to gourmet salami, as Computer Bild reports.

The work of pizza bakers is therefore not completely absent.

At Aldi, everything happens very quickly: the pizza is ready within two minutes, since the pizza bot probably reaches temperatures similar to a wood-fired oven.

The pizza: crispy base, strong taste, optimal appearance.

When the two minutes are up, the pizza bot serves the finished meal, well wrapped.

"Pizzabot" at Aldi: will the pizza machine soon come to Germany?

Such delicious food in such a short time - that must be expensive, right?

A pizza down under at Aldi currently costs 8.99 Australian dollars, which is about 5.74 euros.

Matt Lipski, one of the Pizzabot founders, says the Aldi Corner store is ideal to work with to bring Pizzabot to Australia.

"Our idea was to give consumers who hardly have time a pizza like from the restaurant, which is fast, tasty, healthy and affordable," Lipski continues.

It is not yet clear when and if the pizza bot will come to Germany at some point - because the supply of the robot must of course also be guaranteed.

However, the introduction of the pizza robot in this country is not out of the question, after all, both Aldi Süd and Aldi Nord have already ventured similar concepts with start-ups.

In Germany, Aldi is currently facing a lot of criticism.

Lately, the topic of "animal husbandry" has come up again and again, the 5D rule* has been introduced for meat and some products have disappeared from the shelves*.

At the same time, as with all supermarkets, prices are also increasing*.

Maybe the pizza bot would come at the right time... (tobi)
