In another trial involving the Munich police about the drug scandal, an officer was sentenced to imprisonment.

The district court in Munich imposed a three-year sentence on Thursday and sent the 35-year-old to a rehabilitation center.

The man admitted that he bought cocaine almost 150 times between 2016 and 2018 and passed it on to acquaintances and sold it several times.

At the beginning of the trial on the same day, he testified that he had bought cocaine "at least a hundred times" from a dealer who also regularly supplied other Munich police officers.

The 35-year-old stated that he had slipped into alcohol and drug addiction because of psychological stress.

This also included a deployment in the attack in the Olympia shopping center in the summer of 2016.

The drug scandal shook the police headquarters in Munich in 2020.

Prosecutors conducted 39 investigations against 37 police officers and filed six charges.

In February, for the first time, an officer who had acquired and resold drugs was sentenced to imprisonment.
